Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Severe malnutrition. A mother breast-feeding her severely under-nourished child. The child shows many signs of kwashiorkor syndrome, including thinning of the hair and skin, a variety of skin lesions, loss of pigmentation and severe ulceration. In such cases it is unusual to see a child feeding, as kwashiorkor is often associated with anorexia. Going through the motions of breast feeding may provide some psychological comfort for the child, even though little milk will be available. Photographed in the Merca refugee camp, Somalia.
